FAQS
WHAT DOES IN-HOME PRIVATE GROOMING
I bring the shop to your home! I have all of my equipment, I just need access to water, electricity and the fur kiddos' towels, a minimum of 2 towels per dog are required. If you do not have towels for your pup; please ask for towel service in advance (there is an initial fee). I usually set up in the restroom, garage or backpatio and bathe them inside. I maybe able to bathe them outside, depending on the weather. Who doesn't enjoy some spring outdoor bath?!
HOW MANY DOGS DO YOU ACOMMODATE FOR BOARDING AT A TIME?
Depends on age and size as well as temperament. But we limit 8-10 dogs at a time. Day care is a little different, but boarding has a limit of 10 pups overnight.
MY PET NEEDS TO GO TO THE VET. WILL YOU TAKE THEM?
Absolutely! We can arrange their vet visit if they are staying with us for daycare or during boarding.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING FOR BOARDING?
If your pup is on a special diet, then your pup and their food. Other than that we have food bowls, collars, harnesses, leashes, toys, beds, and blankets.
DO YOU BATHE OR BOARD CATS?
Unfortunately, boarding is a no go for the kitties as many pups that stay with us are not cat friendly and would hate to stress your kitty. In the future, I'm hoping to be able to provide this service, since kitties do hold a special place in my heart!
DO I NEED TO BE HOME FOR THE APPOINTMENT?
For the first visit, yes. I like to make sure your kiddo feels safe and you feel comfortable with me being in your home. Thereafter, not necessarily. I offer key service, which means that you can either give me a key of your home or be able to provide remote access. Either through the garage, back door, or keypad on the front door. What ever is easier for you.
I want you to feel safe and your kiddo to feel safe and also facilitate not having to worry about dropping off or picking up your fur kiddo to a shop or having to stay home from work or change your plans in order to acommodate their appointment.
WHAT METHODS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
We take card, cash, check at the time of the appointment.
WHAT'S YOUR CANCELATION POLICY?
I ask that you please kindly let me know at least 24 hours in advance of you're not able to keep your appointment. If your appointment is not confirmed by 24 hours prior to the appointment, it will be automatically canceled and a $45 fee will be charged. This is to give clients in the wait list the opportunity to get the in the schedule. It also helps me respect your time and my time as a cancelation may lead to appointments being moved earlier or later than originaly scheduled.
WHAT'S THE TIME FRAME FOR YOUR ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE?
Although I try to be very punctual to respect your time, I treat every appointment as unique as your kiddo. There maybe days when your kiddo is not feeling well and may need some more time, space, a lower pace when bathing or drying or trimming and in order to prevent any injuries I will not rush them through the process. There may be times I'm running a tad behind, if that is the case I will notifiy you with and approximate time of arrival. There may also be days when I'm running a little earlier than usual which is why I kindly ask that you give me a 1-2 hour window prior to and after your appointment time for arrival. It's hard to gauge how each appointment will run.
I do appreciate your patience with this as my top priority is to provide a stress free experience for your fur kiddo. Grooming is an integal part of their well-being and running against the clock can cause stress to an activity we're trying to get them accostumed to.
DO YOU WORK WITH DOGS THAT HAVE BEHAVIOR ISSUES?
Most behavior issues on dogs have a root cause and we will try to find the root cause as we re-train your pup to like an activity that may not be of their top liking. In order for this to happen, I ask for your patience and cooperation. Many dogs with behavior issues require training at home between appointments or they may need some private training. Grooming is an integral part of their overall well-being. Grooming goes beyond the aesthetics and many times we discover issues that may be the reason for miss-behavior in your pup. As a groomer, former vet tech, and dog trainer, I like to see the whole picture of your pup's behavior. I pair up with trainers and veterinarians so we can tackle what ever is causing your pup to act in such ways that may be less than desirable.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GROOM MY DOG?
This answer varies by breed and coat type. However, the recommended procedures are every 2-6 weeks for long to medium hair dogs, such as shitzus, poodles, lhasa apso, maltese, schnauzers, old english sheep dogs, retrievers, etc. Some short hair dogs can be groomed every 8 weeks, like pitbulls, rhodesians, labradors, etc.
